World Studio 1.0: my first complete workshop is submitted

The first complete version of World Studio has been submitted to Unity. For me, this is more than a version number: many individual workflows now form one connected tool.

The pieces now work together

I started with a wish to organize my own assets properly and build worlds with them. Those jobs are closely connected in everyday work. An asset is little help if I cannot find it again. A good map is little help if I cannot bring it cleanly into my Unity project.

With version 1.0, I have brought that journey together. The library, map, properties, object search, checks and output belong to one workspace. 2D, isometric and 3D remain distinct ways of working on a shared foundation.

A smoother first few steps

I have made the first path through the tool easier to follow: add your own files, build something, then prepare output. Technical detail remains available through Expert mode and the existing specialist tools.

Small details mattered here. Navigation needs to work on a trackpad. Search needs to take me to the right object. An empty area should explain what I can do next. When I paint a larger area, I want to see what the gesture will change before I commit it.

A closer look before output

World checks and output preflight received a lot of attention. Missing sources, unsuitable assets and identical visible placements should produce understandable findings. A review also needs to notice when I have changed the world since it ran.

For plain geometry, there is an additional native Unity prefab without World Studio runtime components. Regular output remains available for richer game objects. Saving, backups and recovery continue to have their own explicit steps.

Submitted with a clear configuration

I have submitted the first complete version to the Asset Store. The complete edition is prepared for URP; the verified configuration uses Unity 6000.5.9f1 and URP 17.5.0 on macOS with Metal. I will add the public Store link once the listing is available.

The 1.0 patch notes cover the full edition and the changes since 0.10.1 in more detail. They include the new workflows, revised help and many fixes whose value becomes clear in everyday use. The original development captures in this entry each identify their recording date and version.
