Website visits and hosting

STRATO GmbH hosts this website in Germany. When a page is requested, STRATO processes connection data including the IP address, requested page, time, browser information and referring page, if sent. This delivers the website and helps detect and defend against attacks. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in a secure, reliable website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

STRATO retains IP addresses for attack detection and prevention for up to seven days. Website access logs contain anonymised client addresses and remain available for up to six weeks. See STRATO’s data-processing information.

Website technology

The public website uses no analytics tools, advertising trackers, visitor accounts or contact forms. Fonts, images and scripts are served by the website itself. The public pages set no cookies. If you change the motion setting, the website saves that preference in localStorage under riffsource.motion.paused on your device. It stays there until you change it or clear the site data; it is not sent to STRATO or used for tracking. The protected editorial area uses a necessary session cookie for operator authentication; editorial content and uploaded media are stored on the STRATO webspace. The image gallery uses only temporary page state. Email links open your chosen email application.

Support and correspondence

Email enquiries contain the sender address, message and any attachments you choose to send. The mailbox is hosted by STRATO. Processing is based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for contractual enquiries or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR for the legitimate interest in responding to other correspondence. Please include only information needed for your request.

Messages are kept for as long as needed to address the request and follow-up. Legal retention duties or establishing and defending legal claims may require longer storage (Art. 6(1)(c) or (f) GDPR). Support data is not sold or used for advertising. Providing it is voluntary; without a reply address and description, a request may not be actionable.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests for reasons relating to your particular situation. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it for the future without affecting earlier lawful processing.
