Patch Notes

Versions and changes for RIFFSOURCE World Studio.

Version 1.0.055 changesEvery change since 0.10.1I have submitted version 1.0.0 to Unity. These are the changes from 0.10.1 to 1.0.0. Store availability is pending. Complete edition: URP; verified configuration Unity 6000.5.9f1 / URP 17.5.0.Added18Changed9Improved12Fixed16Show all changesHide changes

Added

  • A simpler starting workspace with a next-step strip for adding assets, building a world and preparing output.
  • Optional Expert mode for precision, variants and technical asset settings, without resetting the world or active tools.
  • A central Output workspace for game prefabs, native Unity prefabs, supported Tilemaps and world sections.
  • A cancelable world check for structure, source issues, unsuitable asset types and identical visible placements.
  • Select affected objects or open source repair directly from the check report.
  • A locally exportable JSON report with world metrics and a bounded set of findings.
  • Metrics for total and visible placements, source usage and section density, with triangle counts clearly identified as source estimates.
  • Separate Properties and Objects areas in the right sidebar.
  • A searchable object hierarchy with words, exact tags, layers, groups, IDs, height ranges and separate filters for hidden and locked objects.
  • Collapse all, show the selection path, frame search results and select matching objects together.
  • Area and round brushes, including hex grids and fine subgrids.
  • Explicitly saved brush presets for the source, world mode, shape, radius, precision, variants, connections and build policy.
  • Portable kits include compatible brush presets and remap their sources to the imported library.
  • Reviewed replacement of selected assets through library search and a spatial preview, preserving placement IDs and transforms.
  • Additional native Unity prefab output for plain geometry without World Studio runtime components.
  • A visible Hand tool on H for panning with a normal drag; Space-drag and secondary-button drag support navigation without a middle mouse button.
  • An offline browser manual with chapters and search, complete German and English user guides, and guided first worlds in German, English, French and Spanish.
  • A URP sample material and demo scene for the verified Unity 6000.5.9f1 and URP 17.5.0 configuration.

Changed

  • Version 1.0.0 brings the complete journey from the library through world editing to reviewed output into one workspace.
  • Output and saving remain separate, explicit actions; newly generated output uses its own destination and preserves earlier files.
  • World checks and output preflights belong to the exact world, sources and profiles they inspected; intervening changes invalidate their approval.
  • JSON and snapshot recovery is restricted to the same world and mode, using the spatial preview, protection checks and Undo.
  • New portable kits use schema 3; valid kits using schemas 1 and 2 remain readable.
  • The complete Store edition is specified for URP. Built-in and HDRP are not advertised as supported configurations for the included demonstration.
  • Customer deliveries contain revised user documentation rather than internal development and acceptance records.
  • All four packages consistently use version 1.0.0; optional companion packages require the matching base package.
  • Store updates follow Unity’s regular Asset Store route; guarded website installation and version protection remain available for the other distribution route.

Improved

  • The hierarchy and result lists build in stages and use virtualized rows; transform-only edits retain their membership data.
  • Debounced search avoids unnecessary intermediate queries and keeps visible results tied to the current search.
  • World analysis, source inspection and output preflight split larger tasks into cooperative stages with progress and cancellation.
  • The preview selects nearby placements with bounded temporary memory and avoids repeated index queries inside the candidate loop.
  • Runtime streaming uses a spatial section index and bounded, distance-prioritized scheduling instead of scanning the entire catalog every frame.
  • Separate loading and unloading radii, bounded queues and bounded pools reduce repeated section work near area boundaries.
  • Imports and portable exports enforce read limits during processing and verify the bytes actually copied.
  • Kit reviews detect sources, worlds and libraries that changed before acceptance.
  • Brush gestures show their full outline and a bounded cell preview; oversized gestures are rejected as a whole, and Escape cancels them.
  • New controls follow the existing text-size and contrast preferences, with expanded local text catalogs in four languages.
  • Existing worlds, asset and placement IDs, and layout schema 3 are preserved; layouts using schemas 1 and 2 remain readable.
  • The new manuals explain source assignment, import review, explicit saving and recovery as a connected workflow.

Fixed

  • Opening Settings in English could trigger an event loop and hang the Editor; translated captions are now applied without false input events.
  • Translated child captions in choice fields are no longer treated as language, text-size or update-setting input.
  • Dynamic map instructions, mode names and selection markers are translated before composition; missing English empty-list, metric and navigation text was also added.
  • Clipped setup actions were corrected for the checked combinations of window size, language and text size.
  • The first portable-kit import now creates a missing destination folder correctly.
  • Applying 2D triggers repeatedly no longer creates a second collider, and destroyed Unity object references are handled safely.
  • Space-drag pans the view while Fill and Eyedropper are active, preserving selection, zoom and world data.
  • Invalid local camera, brush and height-filter preferences are normalized safely.
  • A failed session setup releases its resources completely; adding and removing view bookmarks refreshes navigation.
  • Tilemap preflight and actual output treat hidden and non-planar placements consistently.
  • Old search rows cannot be selected while a new query is pending; invalid filters keep their error visible.
  • Output cancellation and failure clean only the newly owned destinations, preserving previous output and unrelated scene content.
  • Late streaming results from an old catalog are released; invalid or duplicate catalog entries do not cause endless loading-error loops.
  • Extreme section coordinates and large bounds are handled without integer overflow, and reduced pool limits are enforced.
  • Invalid assembly transform bases, conflicting IDs and incomplete recovery data are rejected before changes are applied.
  • 2D spline projection preserves the selected logical height; optional Addressables registration remains one Undo operation with explicit saving.
