Privacy is part of the product.
In Good Order is designed around local processing and user ownership. Receipts, warranties, product photos and manuals stay on your device—private, organised and under your control.
Privacy principles
Six principles shape how In Good Order is built.
Data minimisation
Only information needed for a function you choose is collected or processed.
Local processing
Scanning, recognition and storage happen on your device—not on external servers.
No advertising
The product is not designed around ads, behavioural advertising or advertising profiles.
No trackers
No cross-app tracking, covert profiling or unnecessary analytics.
User ownership
Your purchase records belong to you. You decide what to keep, change, export or delete.
Security by design
Apple platform protections and careful storage design are part of the product from the start.
How In Good Order handles data
This section describes how In Good Order handles information within the app.
Receipts and invoices
Added by you through import or scan. Stored locally on your device and processed on-device. Never uploaded automatically.
Warranties and purchase dates
Entered or recognised from documents you provide. Kept in local app storage and available only on your device.
Product photos
Captured or imported when you choose. Processed on-device for recognition where applicable. Not sent to RIFFSOURCE servers.
Manuals and documents
Files you select or scan. Stored in the app’s protected local storage. Shared only when you explicitly export or share them.
Serial numbers and product details
Recorded locally as part of your product entries. Processed on-device when recognised from images. Never transmitted without your action.
Permissions
System permissions are requested in context, only when needed, and remain manageable in iOS Settings.
Camera
Used when you choose to photograph a product, receipt, type label or document. The app does not access the camera in the background.
Photos
Used to import images you select from your photo library. Access is limited to items you explicitly choose—not your entire library in the background.
Files
Used to import documents and manuals you select. The app reads only the files you pick for a specific action.
Notifications
Planned for optional reminders such as warranty expiry. Will be requested only if you enable them. Not required for core use.
iCloud
Optional future sync across your Apple devices. If introduced, it will be encrypted, clearly described and disabled by default until you opt in.
Security
In Good Order is built on local storage and Apple platform security.
Local storage
App records and imported assets use iOS data protection and remain inside the app’s storage area on your device.
Apple platform security
Device encryption, sandboxing and system permission controls protect your data at the operating-system level.
Future encrypted iCloud sync
If optional sync is added, it will use Apple’s encrypted CloudKit infrastructure and require your explicit consent.
No unnecessary transmission
Data leaves the app only when you deliberately export, share or enable a clearly described optional service.
Your privacy choices
You remain in control of your data at all times.
Delete data
Remove individual records, attachments or all local app data through the product controls.
Export
Export your content through a deliberate, user-initiated action whenever the feature is available.
Disable future cloud sync
If iCloud sync is introduced, you will be able to opt out or disable it in the app and in iOS Settings.
Revoke permissions
Camera, Photos, Files and Notifications can be revoked at any time in iOS Settings without losing existing local records.
Development transparency
In Good Order is currently in development. Privacy behaviour may evolve as features are added. Any changes will be documented on this page before public release, and the final app will be reviewed against App Store privacy disclosures and actual data flows.
