Getting started & models
What does the editor require?
The Mac development build presented on the project page requires macOS 15 or later and Apple Silicon. Exported web guides are read in a browser. There is no generally available download yet; newer test builds describe their requirements in their accompanying information.
Which model formats can I import?
The presented editor supports GLB/glTF, OBJ with materials, STL, STEP and IGES. Referenced materials, textures and other companion files belong with OBJ and glTF models. Keep them together for import. Include the format, file size and exact message when reporting an issue.
Do I need an account or cloud service?
Core features work locally. The normal authoring workflow does not require an account or an always-on cloud service. Optional private server synchronisation is a separate workflow that must be explicitly configured.
Instructions & output
How do I turn a model into instructions?
Organise the work into chapters and steps. For each step, set the visible parts, their movement or highlighting, the camera, text and labels that explain the action. Review the sequence before creating a fixed release snapshot.
What should I check after updating a model?
Review the mapping of parts to existing steps. Resolve ambiguous mappings before approving the new state. Keep the previous project and its last working release snapshot.
How does a recipient open a web guide?
Share the complete web output with all companion files. Open its HTML start file in a browser; the offline reader needs neither a local server nor a terminal. Taking a single HTML file out of a multi-file output folder can leave required media behind.
What other output formats are available?
The presented build supports PDF with a bill of materials, PNG images and H.264 video. Resolution and media options depend on the output. Share a reviewed release snapshot and check the result in the intended reader.
Backups & technical help
How do I back up or transfer an authoring project?
Use the project archive workflow. Archives include originals, used media, history and release snapshots. An exported web guide is intended for reading and does not replace a complete authoring project. Keep an additional copy before changing test builds.
What helps diagnose import, camera or output issues?
Include the last working step and the affected format. Use the default view to realign a disoriented camera. Start with a description of import problems; arrange any transfer of confidential CAD files or complete client projects before sending them.
