Editing long instructions and sharing the complete result

Once a project is safely stored, the next question is everyday work: finding steps, editing related text and sharing instructions that remain understandable without the editor.

Finding the right step

A timeline is enough for a short guide. In a long one, I need search to find text, labels and chapters as well. The updated search covers both language versions together while preserving original step numbers.

Multiple steps can be moved, copied or assigned to chapters together. Parts data and instruction text have table-based workflows that compare changes before applying them. This makes it possible to work on many entries while reviewing what will actually change.

Reviews need to respond to changes

Completeness checks connect findings with the relevant content. Missing text or chapter translations can be addressed more directly. An approved step also needs review again when the preceding step changes its actual animation starting point.

The tool can highlight those relationships. The person creating and approving an instruction remains responsible for its technical correctness and safety.

Sharing the whole guide

A complete web export can now be packaged as a ZIP. The model, used media, bill of materials and both text and print versions stay together. After extraction, recipients can read the guide without installing the editor. Text versions remain available without JavaScript or 3D support.

The interactive offline reader adds search, part references and transfer of reading progress. Embedded HTML geometry is also more compact. For one large real test model, the HTML file was around 31 percent smaller without reducing the underlying geometry data.

The portable validation pipeline and browser checks document this development state. The updated native Mac workflows and some large model/browser combinations still need acceptance. Assembly Studio remains in development, with the focus on dependable workflows from the authoring project to a readable result.
