Towards the 0.8 beta: bringing the workspace together
Project style, character studio and organised assets turn Pixel Studio into a connected workspace. Version 0.8.0 is the next planned milestone.
Pixel Studio has reached an advanced beta stage. The next version milestone is planned as 0.8.0. This describes the direction of development, not an installer that is already complete. The available Mac download remains 0.4.26 for now.
Progress comes from the connections
The app should keep more of the work around an individual result together: a project style with palette and view, character views and variants, saved clips and a library where names, tags and collections help you find things. These functions already belong to the reviewed 0.4.26 state; the new version plan does not retroactively turn them into new 0.8 features.
The value appears when you keep working. A new draft starts with compatible style settings. A result becomes the source for another edit. A character keeps its views and clips together. A complete project ZIP preserves work for reopening later.
A version number does not replace release approval
Further medium and larger updates are planned before 1.0. Version 0.8.0 is the next planned milestone. The actual contents of that release will be defined by its verified package and release notes. The website therefore distinguishes the development target from the download available today.
The public presentation belongs to the work too
The website shows the selected brush icon, explains practical workflows and distinguishes app privacy, direct PixelLab connections and website hosting. Pixel Studio remains a free, independent RIFFSOURCE app. PixelLab permits use of its official API; it does not develop the app. Possible API charges are part of your own PixelLab plan.
