0.4.26: Pixel Studio and a dependable update path

The current Mac preview connects the product name, seven languages and the local workspace to a signed update channel.

The app is called Pixel Studio. RIFFSOURCE remains in the credits as the developer and PixelLab as the API provider. Version 0.4.26 brings that independent identity to the website too. The dark interface, Pixel Brush icon and seven languages belong to the same app.

A more complete Mac release

The current Apple Silicon build uses a Developer ID signature and has been notarised by Apple. Its title bar fits the dark interface. At launch, the app initially checks only whether a saved PixelLab key exists; the actual key is requested when an API operation needs it.

Credentials remain in the operating system’s secure store. They are excluded from projects and exported ZIPs. Existing local projects can still be opened and exported.

Updates remain your decision

Pixel Studio can check at launch, weekly at the next launch or only manually. Requests to RIFFSOURCE contain no projects or PixelLab credentials. Available updates download and install only after your click.

The app accepts only signed, newer stable versions. Signatures bind the actual package version. Equal or older releases never cause an automatic downgrade. The public channel is configured; with its current empty offering, the app correctly reports that it is up to date.

The current download

The dedicated Pixel Studio site offers preview version 0.4.26 for Apple Silicon Macs. A current Windows release will follow with the appropriate installer. The app is free; possible PixelLab API charges remain part of your personal provider account.

A real online update between two different approved versions remains a separate future check. The download site and configured channel do not establish that acceptance.
