Patch Notes
Versions and changes for RiffBlock.
1.0.0 · Build 3 · Development notesChanges since build 2 focus on more reliable Safari setup, flexible protection profiles, signed corrections and optional iCloud synchronisation. These notes supplement build 2. Its language packs, local backups and original video/player fixes are not presented again as new features. Only the listed settings are synchronised between devices; Safari permissions, protection pauses, issue reports and learned rules remain local.Added6Changed3Improved5Fixed6Show all changesHide changes
Added
- Three protection profiles: Standard, Strict and Compatibility, with individual adjustments available.
- Separate controls for newsletter prompts, installation banners, floating ads and known consent overlays.
- Temporary website pauses for 15 or 60 minutes.
- Signed correction updates with validation, file import and rollback to a valid previous state.
- An optional Mac menu bar entry with protection status and quick actions.
- Optional iCloud synchronisation for profiles, filter switches, language choices, permanent website exceptions and repairs; switched off on new installations.
Changed
- Setup explains website permission for the additional Safari extension more directly.
- Enabled, disabled and not yet confirmed Safari extensions are shown separately.
- Enabling the Mac menu bar entry hides the Dock icon; disabling it restores the icon.
Improved
- Additional dynamic filters process page areas incrementally, respecting protected content and relevant exceptions.
- Pausing or disabling protection restores its own page changes while accounting for changes made by the website.
- Correction updates have their own retry timing and error information, independent of large filter lists.
- Settings and page assistance use current protection changes more reliably when returning to the foreground.
- Optional iCloud synchronisation merges independent changes and preserves deletions against older device settings.
Fixed
- Fixed a macOS startup crash triggered by a Safari status response.
- Repaired native Safari filter application on Mac by adding the required AppKit linkage.
- Added a bounded wait and visible failure message when opening Safari settings.
- Failed or missing Safari responses no longer appear as explicitly disabled protection.
- Late status and configuration responses cannot overwrite newer states.
- Improved handling of overlapping website pauses and recovery after failed filter application.
